Woman Walking In The Middle Of A Wooden Bridge In A Waterfall

Adventurous Ecuador

It’s literally in the name of this thrilling eight-day tour of Ecuador. While smaller than many of its neighbours, this amazing country packs one hell of punch when it comes to dramatic natural landscapes, from epic volcanoes to the heights of the Andes and the tropical density of the Amazon rainforest. This itinerary traverses the lot, with a series of unique outdoor experiences that are sure to live with you forever. There’s riding through Cotopaxi National Park on horseback, a magical hike around the ethereal Quilotoa crater lake and an scenic cycle ride along the famous Banos Waterfall Route. Real adrenaline junkies will have a go on the Swing at the End of the World, but we won’t judge you if you just stick to whitewater rafting down Jatunyacu River and nighttime jungle hiking in the Amazon.

Volcanic Iceland

The otherworldly landscapes of Iceland, equal parts volcanic and frozen, are as though they were hand-crafted by a thrill-seeking deity keen to create the world’s ultimate adventure playground. Well, if you ask us, they succeeded. From slippery glaciers to thundering waterfalls, black-sand beaches and natural hot springs to sprouting geysers and the epic remnants of shifting tectonic plates, this unique island nation is endlessly explorable. Our five-day tour is jam-packed with amazing experiences – including a tour of the Golden Circle and a sprawling glacial hike – but it’s hard to look past the highlight on day three, as we take you zooming across a pure white, icy glacier at the wheel of a speedy snowmobile – we’ll see you on the snow!

The,Blue,And,Green,Lakes,,Azores

Atlantic Azores

This lesser known archipelago is a little bit like a subtropical cousin of Iceland. Also an island far off in the Atlantic, also forged in the spitting flames of volcanoes, the Azores are Iceland if you swap the white for a bright green coat, rich and luscious. Our six-day trip around the main island, São Miguel, is just as intrepid too. You’ll cycle around and kayak across the surreal volcanic crater lakes of Sete Cidades, before watching out for whales on a magical marine safari. The ante is firmly upped in Ribeira dos Caldeirões, where you’ll abseil across a waterfall and go canyoning down slippery forest ravines. Natural hot springs are on hand to soothe the muscles, while a traditional cozido stew on our final day – cooked underground for hours with the power of geothermal heat – is on hand to soothe the soul.

Tropical Northern Thailand

Think of Thailand and you might picture the chaotic streets of Bangkok or the serene beaches of the south, but outdoor lovers are bound to fall head over heels for the jungle regions of the north. On this 10-day tour you’ll spend one day enjoying the street art and street food of Chiang Mai by bike, but the rest of your time will be spent with Mother Nature. You’ll climb a sticky waterfall en route to Pai, where more falls await, as well as epic canyon sunsets, ancient caves and natural hot springs. Next up is Mae Hong Son, where we’ll go trekking through the jungle, later rewarding ourselves with a sumptuous Thai banquet. Things quite literally peak on our final day, as we summit Thailand’s tallest mountain at sunrise, for spectacular views of day breaking over the region’s luscious forestry. Having marvelled at the vistas of Doi Inthanon, you’ll head back down the mountain to an ethical sanctuary, where you’ll be able to walk, feed and bathe a group of charming elephants – what a way to end the Southeast Asian adventure of a lifetime!

Man snorkelling in the Galapagos Islands

Go Wild in the Galapagos

We’re back in Ecuador again, but this time we’re far off the mainland. The iconic Galapagos Islands, made famous by Charles Darwin, is surely one of the most thrilling and exotic places humans have trodden without ascending above the Earth’s atmosphere. The isles are interesting to explore, but what really makes it fascinating is the creatures you’ll meet along the way. On our five-day tour you’ll be introduced to iguanas and penguins on the beach, go snorkelling with sea lions and hike past blue-footed boobies on scenic lava trails, as well as spotting white-tipped reef sharks while kayaking in the Itabaca Channel. Your best travel buds, however, will no doubt be the giant tortoises roaming freely around our glamping site. These wise old creatures may not have your lust for high-speed adventures, but many of them have seen over a century of history come and go.

KEEN TO EXPLORE THE WORLD?

Connect with like-minded people on our premium trips curated by local insiders and with care for the world

Since you are here, we would like to share our vision for the future of travel - and the direction Culture Trip is moving in.

Culture Trip launched in 2011 with a simple yet passionate mission: to inspire people to go beyond their boundaries and experience what makes a place, its people and its culture special and meaningful — and this is still in our DNA today. We are proud that, for more than a decade, millions like you have trusted our award-winning recommendations by people who deeply understand what makes certain places and communities so special.

Increasingly we believe the world needs more meaningful, real-life connections between curious travellers keen to explore the world in a more responsible way. That is why we have intensively curated a collection of premium small-group trips as an invitation to meet and connect with new, like-minded people for once-in-a-lifetime experiences in three categories: Culture Trips, Rail Trips and Private Trips. Our Trips are suitable for both solo travelers, couples and friends who want to explore the world together.

Culture Trips are deeply immersive 5 to 16 days itineraries, that combine authentic local experiences, exciting activities and 4-5* accommodation to look forward to at the end of each day. Our Rail Trips are our most planet-friendly itineraries that invite you to take the scenic route, relax whilst getting under the skin of a destination. Our Private Trips are fully tailored itineraries, curated by our Travel Experts specifically for you, your friends or your family.

We know that many of you worry about the environmental impact of travel and are looking for ways of expanding horizons in ways that do minimal harm - and may even bring benefits. We are committed to go as far as possible in curating our trips with care for the planet. That is why all of our trips are flightless in destination, fully carbon offset - and we have ambitious plans to be net zero in the very near future.
